As an author, inventor, medical exercise specialist, personal trainer and massage therapist, Chris has a background in health care that not many can offer. With over 11 years of experience working with pain and injuries in people from professional athletes to spinal surgery patients, he presents workshops that are both exciting and highly experiential.
As founder of The National Institute of Health Specialists Inc., Chris has a mission to create learning programs that give health and fitness professionals the experience they need to be the most qualified in the business when it comes to assessing and designing exercise programs for non-acute clients with aches and pains, especially low back pain.
Chris has over 18 years of practical experience with his own low back pain and has competed in junior Olympic and national levels in two sports. He is best known for getting to the root causes of pain and dysfunction while designing evidence-based programs that keep the problems away. He has done this successfully over the years by working directly with and studying under highly respected acupuncturists, chiropractors and physical therapists. Chris has also been the Head of Post-Rehabilitation Exercise and Muscle Therapy for a chiropractic clinic, along with being the Pain and Injury Specialist for The Center of Optimum Health in San Francisco. He now runs his own center in the bay area.
His first book received recognition by PTontheNet co-founder Richard Boyd, who said "I applaud Chris for creating such a thorough yet easy to follow guide in this book Exercise Progression, Low Back Disorders" and "I recommend this book to any professional..."
